This year’s Reading Triathlon will take place on Sunday 12th September.
The Reading Triathlon & Aquathlon was the very first triathlon event to take place in the UK and was held at the Kirtons Farm Water Sports Centre back in 1983. Tri2O Triathlon Club now brings you the Reading Triathlon, a race run by triathletes for triathletes.
The Reading Triathlon & Aquathlon has four fantastic race options for you. We have standard distance, sprint distance and sprint relay triathlons, and our sprint distance aquathlon. The race itself takes in an open water swim in the lovely waters of the Tri2O lake, followed by a stunning cycle course around the local lanes of Burghfield, Mortimer and Grazeley, before finishing off with a run around the lakeside trail. Look out for our 110% cycle & run sections!
After so many events were postponed last year we are very much hoping that by September this year we will be able to put on a fun event for you to enjoy. As a British Triathlon permitted event, you can be assured that the event will be Covid secure and operate within the guidelines at the time. We are currently planning for a smaller event than previous years, which is likely to be a time trial format race.
This is all subject to: Coronavirus restrictions; British Triathlon guidance; and the availability of our usual venue. We very much hope to be able to hold the event.
In the event of cancellation, we would of course prefer you to defer your entry and join us in 2022, but understand that this may not be an option for some people, in which case we will 100% refund your entry.. This event is not commercial; it is run by the club, who are all volunteers and triathletes, and any profits made are reinvested into training, coaching and education for club members, as well as a substantial donation to charity.
We will be operating a tiered pricing system this year, meaning the earlier you enter the less you pay!
|Tier One||Tier Two||Tier Three|
|First 100 entries||Up to 250 entries||Up to 400 entries|
There are two race distance options,
|standard (Olympic)||1500m swim, 44km cycle, 10.8km run|
|Sprint||750m swim, 22km cycle, 5.4km run|
|The sprint is also available as a relay race|
